Pakistan's exports jade jewelry continued to increase

According to Palestinian "Commercial Record newspaper," February 23 reported that, despite the current political instability, poor security situation, but Pakistan's jewelery industry's export situation is gratifying.

Pakistan Federal Bureau of Statistics figures show that the first half of this fiscal year (2009 July-December), jade jewelry exports to Pakistan had reached 288 million U.S. dollars, with the same level as last fiscal year,it has been completed this fiscal year due target (3.05 billion U.S. dollars) in 95.5%, which is forecast to reach 350 million U.S. dollars, an increase of more than 20%.

In recent years, in order to promote the Palestinian jewelery industry development and expansion of exports, Pakistan Trade and Development Agency (TDAP) has taken many measures, including harmonization of customs valuation and customs procedures simplification, reduction of the industry's need for raw materials, tools and equipment import tariffs, given revenue-related tax rebates.

The above measures have effectively promoted the development of the industry Pakistani jade jewelry, jade jewelry exports increased year by year. Statistics show ,2006-FY07, Pakistan Pakistani exports of only 48 million U.S. dollars ,2007-08 fiscal year rose to 221 million U.S. dollars ,2008-09 fiscal year and further increased to 288 million U.S. dollars.
